Throwback of The Day
Hip Hop has influenced my life profoundly, but it’s not the only genre of music I love. So for Throwback of the day I thought I should bring the viewers something different. This Video caused a lot of controversy in 1993 for the Violent Images but mostly for its significant background. This song is based on a true story about a 15 year old student from Texas who killed himself in front of his class in 1991. What I found weird is since the video’s release, we have seen the rise of school violence in our country. Did Pearl Jam predict the growth of a negative social issue? I won’t say all of that but I can safely state that they were the only group who brought the growing issue to the public musically.
