iKE: Before we start for those that don’t know let them know who you are.
Mickey Factz: MICKEY FACTZ…savior of the bronx, sultan of miami and the ruler of the free world…some people call me mickey jordan others call me mickey mcfly…long as you love me thats all that matters….
iKE: haha i hear that , where did your inspiration to make music come from?
MickeyFactz: It comes from the soul. Since I was a lil boy I was fascinated with instruments. Pause. Then Big Daddy Kane started rhyming…and that was it..i was hooked…
iKE: Pause! Do you remember how old you were when you first started making music? and what’s the meaning behind the name Mickey Factz ?
MickeyFactz: I was about 14 when i recorded my first track called 6 express. Repping the bronx as always! My name back then was renegade. I had to bury that lame ass nicca. The meaning behind Mickey Factz is Mickey comes from natural born killers and factz is what I talk about. Put that together and you got a time bomb.
iKE: yea man The Bronx definately needs people like you to rep for it. Getting a lil more recent , your new mixtape is called “Back To The Future :Flashback Vol 1″ what can we expect from this tape?
MickeyFactz: You can expect rock, pop, jazz, lounge music, street music, girl music, thug music, corner music, dance music, funny music. The whole spectrum. I’m giving everybody everything. We taking you to the future and the past. Shout to precize for recreating classics to make new classics…shit be crazy.
iKE: Im feeling that, on your last tape you had a song called “Rockstar Posers” where you put posers on blast, this time it seems you have another song lashing out called “streetwear story 2008″ what made you write this song?
MickeyFactz: last time around i killed that stupid ass colorful hat and the fake air force 1’s. *shout to the posers* this time im killing the t-shirt line niccas. EVERYBODY HAS A T-SHIRT LINE…fuck outta here that shit aint dope…. shout out to slick rick for being the originator. but i had to end these idiots out here who think clothing lines are based on screen printing and photoshop.
iKE: Definately theres a lot of “t-shirt lines” out right now. what brands out there are u feeling ??
MickeyFactz: lemar and dauley, live mechanics, belchez, lavie clothing corp, palis, 10 deep, garbege. These are lines because their doing other shit. Time to grow up man. T-shirts are corny. Lets get it popping.
iKE: Definately man , on the cover of you’re new tape i see you rockin rugby, and supra’s, are u getting away from the whole streetwear scene?
MickeyFactz: Streetwear will always be dope. But I think it’s time I venture into a new land where people can be themselves again. Time to get clean and fresh for the 08 and beyond.
iKE: Word up , individuality is dead right about now , but back to the new tape, what are some stand out tracks? your favorites? and who did your photoshoot this time around?
MickeyFactz: The remix to know the ledge with curtains, Streetwear story 2008, mick or jack which goes into some rock shit, buck em down with l&d owner manhattan, friend or foe which puts ya’ll in the category of a CEO and a rapper, check the rhyme on that jazz shit…damn my bad thats the whole joint…my favorites are live at the bbq, around the way girl and summertime. Paul nart did my photo shoot again. He’s great as a photographer.
iKE: Sounds like you put a lot of work into this mixtape, what else can we expect from you in the near future?
Mickey Factz: Shout out to GFC, A.L.I.E.N and Dipset. Download that mixtape. Gfcny.com
